Never Give Up

04:54 Jun 30 2009
Times Read: 568

Wrote this for a friend who was going through a rough time dealing with a breakup back in the beginning of our senior year of high school. Everything's good now though and blessed with someone to love.

~Never Give Up~

I hear your voice over the phone:

upset, sad, angry, scared.

Heartbreak is hard that I know

even though I’ve never had happen like this.

Actually I’ve never had it happen before to tell the truth.

I can’t say I know how it really feels

what you are going through,

but I can tell you this one thing.

I’ll always be there for you when you need me,

when you need someone to talk to,

when you need someone’s shoulder to cry on,

when you need someone to comfort you.

I won’t tire of hearing your voice

for it’s calling out to be heard.

It calls out needing comfort,

needing someone to say that everything will be alright,

even though it feels like it never will be alright.

Whenever you need someone just call me and I’ll listen.

I’ll listen until every star in the sky fades away.

I’ll listen until the sun never rises and the moon never shines.

I’ll listen until every tear seems to flow until it seems you can’t cry anymore.

Please don’t hate yourself for what happened

since it’ll only seem worse.

Don’t give up for that’s not like you.

Love hurts and sometimes it seems that life can never go on

once a love so great is gained then lost.

A love that seemed perfect then ripped apart in a million pieces

and thrown to the ground to be stomped on and laughed at.

It hurts so bad that you wish you could die or disappear.

But whatever you do, don’t give in and don’t give up.

Don’t let the darkness of hate and pain get to you too much.

Hope is still there watching out.

Watching out to find someone that will love you with all their heart

and will take care of you even if it wasn’t the one that you once loved at first.

Never give up because for that you can and will be strong and continue to get stronger.

Seasons

04:50 Jun 30 2009
Times Read: 570

I know I wrote this back in my junior year of high school since it's about a friend I had come to admire quite a lot at that time.

~~Seasons~~

You remind me of the seasons

throughout the year.

Autumn.

Born in that time when

The leaves change and fall.

Red leaves my favorite

reminding me of your pretty red hair.

Winter.

Cold weather it seems but the snow

reminds me of your pretty skin soft and pale.

The white snow falling in your hair makes

You look like an angelic goddess.

Spring.

A time of new beginnings.

Flowers bloom full of bright colors

and you remind me of the

bright and cheerful like the tulips,

playful like the daffodils and daisies,

lovely like the lilies, and

beautiful like the roses.

Summer.

Quiet evening and calm nights

filled with the white dots of stars.

Peaceful you are and gentle like those nights.

Even if you get angry at something or someone,

like a thunderstorm passing by,

you cheer up again and forgive

and let those peaceful nights show

the stars once again.

Endless

04:47 Jun 30 2009
Times Read: 572

I believe I wrote this during the winter months of 2007. I know I was in my math class at the time staring out the window at the snow falling instead of paying attention to the teacher. Oops. I find I did that a lot lol.

~Endless~

Time.

Endless it is and ever flowing

like the streams of water flowing down

to meet the ocean.

Like a ribbon threading through space

endlessly.

Like the hand on a clock

continually going.

Keeps going like the continual rise

and setting of the sun on the horizon.

However time doesn’t always keep going

for some things.

Like people.

Their time seems fleeting in the vast expanse,

like a mere candle burning slowly,

and then one day just fade away.

Time becomes precious in that fact

and so people wish they could control it.

They wish their candle will never fade

and so never end.

What would it be like to live through time

endlessly and possibly agelessly?

Would it be fun?

Exciting?

Or would it bring more to one’s mind on how

people can make mistakes

and either change them or

repeat them?

Would it get boring after a while

when everything has been seen or done?

One could never know by living forever

for forever is still far away.

But one could still enjoy their time by

living life to its fullest before their candle

fades away.

Flickering Candle in Darkness

04:40 Jun 30 2009
Times Read: 575

Can't remember when I wrote this. I believe in March of 2007 but it's been a long while.

~Flickering Candle in Darkness~

A small candlelight flickering in the impending darkness.

Slowly it tries to light that darkness;

The darkness of those who are untrusting.

Untrusting people of the world shrouding themselves in darkness;

Darkness of untrusting, accepting only what they believe to be true.

But the candle slowly tries to maintain the light of its flame.

A light that shows that others should trust others; to accept other ideas.

A light of a new generation that can possibly set things right.

A light that will fight at all costs to keep their light burning.

Never letting the light of the candle fade out to the darkness.

Death's Whispers

04:37 Jun 30 2009
Times Read: 576

Had to do a poem to a picture and I happened to grab a black and white photo of a graveyard and this is what came to mind. Did this back in my junior year of high school in May of 2006. (Also on my profile).

~Death's Whispers~

Leaves swirl in

a chilly wind

of autumn.

Silence befalls

the place where

no one goes often.

The trees around

creak and groan

in the chilly wind

with their branches bare.

The cloudy grey sky of early evening

makes the grey stones seem

even more weathered,

more haunting,

more desolate.

Names of people past

written on the stones

telling vaguely of a life spent.

Dead flowers and faded ribbons

set in front of the stones of lost family

find themselves lost in the eerie silence

of the graveyard

of Death's whispers.
